Benz Bavarian, a community focused Company

For many years now we have  focused on playing our part in the local community, both in Duffield and  the surrounding areas.

We believe that it is our corporate responsibility to play an integral part in supporting the local community. Consequently we are associated with various sponsorship activities involving many local organisations and worthy causes such as schools, clubs and some of our up and coming sporting talent.

Our involvement and support through sport stems from Felix Frixou, the Managing Director of Benz Bavarian and his personal involvement in individual and team sports throughout his life, including representation at National level in Football, Rugby and Squash for his native country of Cyprus.

We are the official supplier of vehicles to Derby Rugby Club and one of their main supporters. The ‘Benz-Bavarian’ hospitality suite is regularly used by our customers and clients on match days and for private functions.

We proudly sponsor England Squash Professional  Nick Matthew,  currently ranked World Number #2 and England Number # 1.

Nick has very recently won 2 Gold Medals at the Commonwealth Games in Delhi in both the Mens Individual Event and the Mens Doubles - a fantastic achievement.

 Duffield is a National League Premier Division side, and without question, one of the top club sides in the country. They proudly bear the name of Benz-Bavarian Duffield (PSL).

Felix is the team manager for this highly successful team, an accolade he is extremely   proud of. 

Our Mini Bus is regularly used by The Old Vicarage School in Darley Abbey to transport Pupils to various Sporting and Academic functions. We are delighted to provide this service and maintain our close relationships with the School and the local community.

" Sport offers so much to children. Its competitive nature and the challenges sporting endeavour brings, hold up a mirror to life. Lifelong friendships are forged on the field of play. A child playing sport will also learn the valuable lesson that "you get out what you put in".  Playing in competitive matches is the best way for children to learn and conquer any sport. Practice and training sessions are great, but nothing replaces the lessons learnt during victory and defeat in competitive fixtures. 

 At The OldVicarageSchool, we have developed our sporting provision so that every child from the age of 8 has the opportunity to compete in fixtures with other schools. This is possible due to the generosity Benz Bavarian,Duffield. They offer OVS the use of their minibus to travel away to fixtures with other schools. We are now able to play in the region of thirty fixtures a term, offering Rugby, Netball, Soccer, Hockey, Cricket and Rounders. The use of this minibus has opened to door to a whole range of sporting opportunities. It has made a huge impact in terms or our success. We may have started modestly in 2007, often losing to bigger, more experienced schools. However, three seasons later our teams have now become 'David' to our 'Goliath' opponents, often defeating schools in competitive matches who have three, four or five times as many pupils to choose from than we do.
